I am humbled for the opportunity to lead the Central Delaware Branch as one of more than 3000 such NAACP units nationwide with the mission to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights for all individuals, and eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all.
As the branch president, along with my executive committee, I stand committed to rebuilding the branch through the following major goals:
1. Increase adult and youth memberships
2. Maintain and develop new partnerships
3. Empower citizens to lead in the community through understanding public policy and political representation
4. Implement the NAACP Game Changers, which is the heart of the work done by the membership in the NAACP: Economic Sustainability, Education, Public Safety/ Criminal Justice, Environmental and Climate Justice, Health, Voting Rights/ Civic Engagement and Youth Engagement
We invite you to join our team by being a member. WHEN WE FIGHT, WE WIN!
Anne W. Smith, President
Central Delaware Branch
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
It is with profound pride that I greet you as the President of the Central Delaware NAACP Branch. I have served as the president of the branch since October 2019 with the challenge to rebuild, recruit, retain, and refocus a strong branch presence in Central Delaware. Being blessed with more than 25 years in higher education administration has equipped me to effectively lead teams toward mission fulfillment. I have had many opportunities to serve in several leadership roles within the Branch, including the recent position as vice president. During my career, as a servant leader, I have had opportunities to collaborate with community, government, and nonprofit partners. It is now time to share my knowledge and I am excited to rebuild this branch.
