The Delaware State Conference of the NAACP will be celebrating its Annual Convention during Black History month, February 29, 2020, at Delaware State University in the Bank of America Building. I am encouraging all members to attend this meeting. Our goal is to recruit four delegates, 20 adult observers and 20 youth to attend this meeting. You can pick up your registration form at the meeting on the 18th.
The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and will include workshops on economic empowerment, criminal justice, environmental justice and education ( the lawsuit against the state of DE).
The luncheon speaker is Attorney Crump, civil rights advocate, noted for his work as lawyer for Trayvon Martin’s family.
Awards will be presented to several civil rights leaders. Registration is $40.00 for adults and $20.00 for youth to include lunch. Please give the secretary your check for the convention at the next meeting on the 18th. We need to have a strong presence on the 29th.
